Preparing the Right Hand/Suggestions for Crossing the Break

1. When playing from open C-sharp to fourth-line D-natural, put the right-hand fingers (4-5-6) down when playing the C-sharp. On most saxophones, players can also leave down the left-hand ring finger (3) and the octave key when playing this interval.

2. When playing from C-sharp to D-sharp, put the right-hand fingers (4-5-6) and the D-sharp key down when playing the C-sharp. On most saxophones, players can also leave down the left-hand ring finger (3) and the octave key when playing this interval.

3. When playing from C-sharp to E, put the right-hand index and middle fingers (4-5) down when playing the C-sharp. On most saxophones, players can also leave down the left-hand ring finger (3) and the octave key when playing this interval.
